Score to “Night on Bald Mountain” sequence in Fantasia (1940, orchestrated by Leopold Stokowski). The score features Modest Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, which segues into the beginning of Franz Schubert’s Ave Maria

Stokowski said of his use of these pieces in Fantasia: “The beauty and inspiration of music must not be restricted to a privileged few but made available to every man, woman and child. That is why great music associated with motion pictures is so important, because motion pictures reach millions all over the world.”
